San Diego's Most Walkable Neighborhoods

City Focus

San Diego is one of the most exciting places to live in California. With many of the most amazing natural wonders in the state as the backdrop, San Diego residents are spoiled by the beauty of the location as well as the convenience that comes with city living.

If you look around, you'll notice that the city has been committed to improving the walkability of almost every neighborhood. However, some areas are better than others for those who want the healthy, convenient, car-free lifestyle that a high rise can provide. These are the best neighborhoods for those looking to spend less time in their car and more time enjoying life.

Little Italy

As you might expect from the name, Little Italy is brimming with old-world charm. The neighborhood is full of restaurants, local breweries, speakeasies, and shops, many of which are well-established local institutions. Whether you’re looking for late-night drinks, a day at the beach, or even just a quick trip to the pharmacy, living in San Diego’s Little Italy means that everything you need is within walking distance.

Our two favorite buildings in Little Italy are Aperture and La Vita because of their great locations, cool units, and low association fees.

East Village

You may know San Diego’s East Village as home to marquee venues like Petco Park and Quartyard, but it's also home to some of the city's most distinctive condos. The Legend is a baseball lover's full-amenity dream that you have to see to believe. The Metropolitan Club is perched atop the Omni Hotel with access to world-class services, supreme luxury, and ocean views.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxed stroll through the farmer's market in Little Italy or a blowout Petco Park event in the East Village, San Diego has something for you. Didn't quite see what you were looking for? Check out all San Diego condo listings here.
