Nestled among the tree tops in our funky artist-friendly house, this studio apartment is just minutes from downtown, UAB and the Vulcan trail. Enjoy the comfort and privacy of your own kitchen, bathroom, sleeping loft, sitting and dining areas in Birminghams beautiful Southside neighborhood. Our historic home was built in 1905 and has been lovingly updated and customized by a number of artists over the years. It currently contains four private units. The studio apartment is located on the second floor with entry via a private door off a shared hallway. A private sleeping loft, sitting area, kitchen, and bathroom are all contained within the studio apartment. This is truly a one-of-a-kind, handmade space with incredible proximity to the best Birmingham has to offer. Air conditioning is available via window units. Heating is available via central furnace plus additional portable electric radiators. For sleeping accommodations, there is a full-size mattress in the sleeping loft, plus a full-size daybed on the main floor that can be easily converted into a sleeping area. Please note that the sleeping loft is accessed only by a long ladder and is not suitable for young children. The kitchen is stocked with cooking basics, full size refrigerator, 2 burner gas cooktop, and microwave. The lovely seating area on the front porch is available for your enjoyment. Access to the Vulcan Trail, a mostly flat 4 mile/6.4 km out and back is just .3 miles/.5 km from the house. Street parking is free and abundant in front of the house. Wifi password shared on arrival. No tobacco smoke inside the house. No parties or events. Please be mindful of other guests in the house and observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am. We live in another unit in the house and are available for assistance, but we offer privacy unless otherwise needed.
