Madeira Beach Condos

Each of the barrier-island communities along the Gulf of Mexico has its own character, and Madeira Beach in St. Petersburg, FL, is no exception. It also stands out for having a wide variety of housing options, due in part to the fact that it spans the waterway in between the island and the mainland. The avenues crossing the St. Pete islands are numbered — Madeira Beach runs from 128th up to 155th. There's a bridge at 150th heading east onto the peninsula, and the Johns Pass Bridge connects travelers to Treasure Island going south. In fact, it's its own city — St. Petersburg is just a neighbor east across the bay. (read more about Madeira Beach)

Madeira Beach Condo Living

One of the unique things about Madeira Beach is that it's the closest beach town to the VA hospital in Bay Pines. This makes it a popular stopover or temporary residence for military families. The War Veterans Memorial Park is attached to the hospital, further cementing the area's appeal for servicemembers and their families. The small portion of town on the Bay Pines side has shopping, schools, parks, restaurants and businesses. However, most of the fun is on the island.

The gulf side has two main areas: The beach strip and the bay side. The beach has sand, sun and plenty of tourist-focused restaurants, resorts, lounges and entertainment — there's even a business that runs an old-fashioned pirate ship. There are some residential condo towers on the waterfront as well. In towards the bay, there are several residential neighborhoods. Many of the bayside homes in Madeira Beach have their own docks, and the Marina is never far away for those that don't have private mooring.

People love living in Madeira Beach because it's a good mix of beach fun and city convenience. There's a lot to choose from, so there should be something for everyone. Let one of our experts work with you to identify options in this desirable waterfront community.
