Downtown Kansas City Condos

For out-of-towners, and sometimes even for locals, there's sometimes a certain degree of confusion as to what precisely separates Kansas City Kansas from Kansas City Missouri — other than the Missouri and Kansas rivers, that is. Officially, they're two different cities with two different mayors in two different states. However, for most people who live here, the ease of access between the two cities and the similar cultures make them, at times, almost indistinguishable from one another. One thing is relatively well agreed upon, however: Downtown Kansas City is squarely on the Missouri side. (read more about living in Downtown Kansas City)

Downtown Kansas City Condo Living

Downtown covers a relatively large geographical area. Running south from the Missouri River to the end of Penn Valley Park at 31st Street, and east from the state line to Woodland Avenue, it's a little over six square miles. Compared to the size of KCK and KCMO combined, it's no surprise that Kansas City has such a large, dense urban core. Still, it's relatively easy to get downtown from anywhere in the area, and the airport is right across the river for business trips or vacation getaways.

The downtown area is highly diverse, with historic neighborhoods, riverside recreational areas and hip, up-and-coming condo-and-nightlife districts. It's also the center of the metro area's culture, with famous Kansas City Jazz venues, the Negro League Baseball Museum and Union Station — a working regional and city transit hub that serves multiple duty as a rail museum, a science center, a theater and a planetarium.

There's a unique feel to each neighborhood, and huge range of housing options in downtown Kansas City. There's no comparing Union Hill, Crossroads, the Garment District or River Market — each has its own charms. The city is also constantly in flux, so the best way to know what you're really considering is to be there. Call today, and let us connect you with the people who have the on-the-ground knowledge you need to make the best decision.
