The lofts were originally three different industrial businesses in 1909, later became an artist community after the factories closed and were eventually converted to condos in 1987 by Hanover/Erlich.

About Silver Square Lofts

An old crane over 50 feet tall still sits in the middle of the property and smaller cranes have been built into various condos. These units vary in square footage from 700 to 3,500 square feet with unique floor plans in each unit. Sugar Square Lofts offers live/work spaces with several residnets doing just this. With the development of a light rail station located at 38th and Blake St. this ever changing neighborhood is offering growth potential for small businesses and people who want to live and work from home or make the short commute into downtown. Amenties include a resident courtyard and picnic area with two grills, community garden, reserved parking, garage parking with some units, atrium, WiFi in common areas, an upper deck for gatherings and  secured access.

Unsurpassed as historic lofts

A community built from three different industrial businesses in the early 1900s offers a rich history passed down not only through words, but through art. When these lofts were developed, the area was already rich with artists and a creative community who became some of the original owners. The original buildings were a sugar refinery, an engineering factory and lastly, a battleship manufacturing factory. A 50 foot crane still stands on-site which was physically used to move parts of battleships from the factory to the trains; this crane isn't visible from Blake Street and is a well kept secret to passers by. Units range from 700 square feet to 3,500 square feet and all are unique; one unit has a roll-up door into the living room while another is zoned to be a restaurant and features a commercial grade kithen. An art gallery is on site is used as a live/work space in which the owners open their entire multi-level home to the public during First Friday art walks. It is clear this is an artist community once you step into the courtyard where there are pieces of orignal art placed throughout the common areas. Silver Square Lofts has something for everyone who enjoys loft living in a historically rich community. Conveniences to get out and about City living offer conveniences but some not as convenient as a light rail station almost in your back yard. The RTD Light rail station is expected to be active in 2016, not soon enough for some, and will offer the fastest, easiest transportation to the airport. Access to I-25 and I-70 are 2.65 miles and the back roads quickly get you to Colorado Blvd. and Quebec Street without ever getting on the highway. The walking score for the neighborhood is 74 and may increase as businesses develop and grow in the area. Access to Downtown is easy via bike or foot but you can always leave the car at home and avoid the parking nightmare.
