Ohio City Real Estate
Just over the Cuyahoga River to the west of downtown you will find one of Cleveland’s oldest, most diverse, and most enchanting communities. Anchored by the historic West Side Market and spanning about twenty or so square blocks is Ohio City. You won’t see any high-rises here but you will find street after street of meticulously detailed Victorian homes and even a castle or two dating to the mid 1800s. Along W. 25th Street and woven throughout the district you will also find some of Cleveland’s best breweries, bistros, and cafes.
Developers and investors have taken notice of this treasure and new construction and renovation has come back into this community in recent years. Abandoned and neglected homes have been restored to their glory days and new town-homes, condos, and cluster homes are popping up all over the community. The Fries & Schuele Building is one example of the renovation of a historic building turned condo-community. These upscale units along W. 25 form a square around a common courtyard. They sit right next to Market Square which is home to top-rated restaurants and breweries such as the Flying Fig and Great Lakes Brewery and Restaurant.
