On 17th one will find our Financial district with the World Trade Center as one of the buildings towering overhead. There is the Federal District with numerous courts and the Welling Webb Municipal building. Next door to that is the Denver Newspaper Agency. Tourists frequent the Embassy Suites, Hyatt and the new Four Seasons. The Convention Center can be recognized by its dramatic slanted roof with the "big blue bear" resting on one side.
There's so much to do when you live in Downtown. Don't miss the Great American Beer Festival here every fall! The Theater district is the second largest performing arts center in the US and brings ballets, symphonies and comedians from around the world. Civic Center Park and the Greek Amphitheater within host many festivals, films and marathons in Denver. The Taste of Colorado and the Denver marathon are just two examples! Sports enthusiasts can walk to Coors Field, the Pepsi Center and Invesco is only one mile away. In the center of downtown is the 16th St. pedestrian mall. There is a free shuttle running up and down this mall with light rail stops at either end making public transportation cheap and easy! The Paramount Theater sits off this mall with famous musicians and speakers throughout the year. The Clock Tower is one of my favorite parts of the Denver skyline in the evenings. On top of all of this there are numerous galleries, clubs, bars, restaurants, boutiques and coffee shops.
