Urban Living in Denver's West Colfax

Downtown Denver is booming and people are buying up hot properties quickly, but there are still some hidden treasures in the market and the centrally located West Colfax/Sloan's Lake neighborhood is one of those treasures.

A Natural Connection

One of the nice things about West Colfax is the connection to nature. Sloan's Lake is one of the largest bodies of water in the city, with plenty of opportunities for fishing, recreation, or just plain old relaxation. There's also Lakewood Gulch, which forms the southern border of the neighborhood. Major projects transformed it over the course of several years into an accessible green space, complete with a multi-use trail.

An Urban Experience

While there's plenty of shopping and entertainment on the west side of the Platte River, it's also quite easy to get over to the downtown on public transit. The Sheridan RTD stop is a newly-installed park and ride facility. It's minutes to the museums, shows, shops and nightlife of the other downtown areas, such as LoDo, the Golden Triangle Arts District and River North.

A Vibrant Feeling

Of course, there's more than public infrastructure being developed in West Colfax. There are plenty of state-of-the-art condo buildings recently completed or currently in the works. One of our favorites is Circa West, a hot mixed-use development with 64 residences situated above the commercial units. It's going up at right on the main strip at 4600 West Colfax, about two blocks south of the lake.

New developments like Circa West are becoming a standard in this booming little neighborhood, and all of the daily essentials have already moved in. There are restaurants, shops and even gyms for those who would rather do their jogging inside than on the circle tour of Sloan's Lake. Speaking of sports, Mile High Stadium is right in the neighborhood and Coors Field is easily accessible by taking the train over to Union station and walking a couple of blocks.

A Prime Opportunity

When you look at West Colfax / Sloan's Lake on the map, it's easy to see why people are snapping these condos up. It's right across the river from MSU and it's within walking distance to some of the biggest entertainment venues in town.
