While people are running around as if their heads are on fire and the world is going to end, I think it is a very important time to step back and take a lesson from history.
Yes, the country as a whole may be in for some tough times.
But, will the world as we know it end and leave us looking around for some sort of a sign of what life used to be before the DISASTER TO TOP ALL DISASTERS?? History would tell us NO.
This is not the first time that our government or markets have failed us and probably won’t be our last. In the words of Gary Keller in his new book The Shift, “SHIFT HAPPENS!” Your financial advisor would probably tell you that it is not the time to pull your long term growth funds and I am telling you it is definitely not the time to shy away from buying a house.
You may not be able to turn on the television without someone telling you that we are on our way to a second great depression or that life as we know it is over, but the truth of the matter is, society has experienced times like this before, they have gotten through them and life goes on. People will still get up tomorrow, buy gas, drive to work, buy groceries, and buy and sell real estate.
The ones that look back on periods such as these fondly are the ones that took advantage of the situation. If you are a qualified buyer or a cash buyer, the time to buy is NOW. I’m not telling you to go in blindly, no, I will help you to do your due diligence and find the perfect deal, but this is a buyer’s market and crafty buyers will take advantage.
