Perez Art Museum in downtown Miami

The Perez Art Museum is the first part of the development of a multifaceted "cultural corridor" know as Museum Park.  The building is designed by Herzog & de Meuron, and it's first gallery floor will be 20 feet above sea level, or 18 feet above the flood mark.  This is to protect the art pieces.  The ground level will be a dynamic carpark, similar to the structure located at 111 Lincoln Road in South Beach.  Gaps in the concrete floors will allow light to filter through.

Patrick Blanc has designed hanging vertical gardens made of local plants and vegetation.  Plantings will also be rise out of the gaps in the concrete floors for an integrated effect.

December is the scheduled opening and will stage an exhibition of the work of Ai Weiwei.

Marina Blue, Ten Museum Park, Casa, Marquis, and the soon to be built One Thousand Museum Park are all within a block of this 28 acre bayfront park and museum.
