Mainsail Lodging & Development is a Tampa based company specializing in hotels and resort property management which will now expand its award winning collection with the new Luminary Hotel. The 237-room hotel will feature a rooftop lounge, signature restaurant, culinary theatre and be connected to the Harborside Convention Center transforming downtown Fort Myers into a destination.
The 12-story hotel, expected to open in early 2019, will be the first Autograph Marriott in the Fort Myer-Naples area. While the hotel and convention center has been on the city’s radar for years, it has failed to find a developer willing to manage the Convention Center till now. Joe Collier, President of Mainsail said “We believe Fort Myers is really something special and we are thrilled to be part of the transformation taking place in downtown.”
Renovation has already begun on the Convention Center and plans for the hotel are expected to begin soon. When you consider that the convention business is a $120 billion dollar a year business, you can see how becoming a convention destination will really boost the local economy as well as property values!
