Holy Hot Sauce, Batman!

This weekend, be sure to celebrate two of Austin’s favorite events, the annual Hot Sauce and BatFest festivals.

Begun in 1990, the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival has grown into one of the world’s largest and most attended. As many as 15,000 visitors and 350 entries are expected in this year’s festival. And as August comes to an end, the new bat “pups” are just beginning to fly. In what other city can you attend an annual Bat Fest?! We invite you to enjoy the world’s largest Mexican Free-Tail bat colony before they head south for the winter, with live music, children’s events and costume contests along the Congress Avenue Bridge. Saturday & Sunday, August 23rd & 24th. Events begin at 4pm.
