Finally Commercial Space on the West Bank!

I had the opportunity to visit Stonebridge Square this past weekend.  This mix use retail/commercial space could be just what the doctor ordered for the west bank Stonebridge development.

Although I have always been a fan of Stonebridge and have been impressed with each new phase, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of commercial/retail space in the area.  Its true, the viaduct already boasts one of Cleveland’s premier Italian restaurants, Ponte Vecchio, but for the Stonebridge community the possibilities are limited when it comes to other consumer options within walking distance.

This brick and glass atrium (adjacent Stonebridge Plaza) seems to have solved the problem and it looks like this is only the beginning.  The 35,000 square foot commercial space already has leased out a coffee shop, dry cleaners, pizza place, deli, gourmet grocery store, and even a martini bar.  The square has been designed to look like an old Italian village and comes complete with arched entry ways and a brick patio.

For the condo shopper that puts a big premium on a self-sustaining community, the completion of the square puts the Stonebridge development up there with the warehouse district as far as convenience.  Residents will finally be able to enjoy life’s simple pleasures without even leaving the block.
