Bay Area BikeShare allows members to check out any of their 700 bikes from 70 stations and ride for free for 30 minutes and drop off at any other station. This can help people ride from their location to the other areas for work or errands cutting their commute time. There are locations in San Francisco, San Jose, Palo Alto, Mountain View and Redwood City. Users use an electronic key to check a bike out and when they drop off at another station, it records their return time. Members can use the BikeShare program 24 hours a day. Users can also get tips from the Bay Area BikeShare website on routes and download bike apps for their smart phone.
We highlight this story on Highrises.com because many of the bike stations are located outside the BikeShare stations.
