Alex Rodriguez sold his custom home for $30 million a few months ago and then decided to purchase a modest $2.1 million dollar condo in Miami.  This three bedroom condo is still a luxurious spread located on Millionaire’s Row in Miami Beach and full of high-end amenities such as a state of the art fitness center, spa, infinity pool, 24-hour concierge and valet parking.

Alex is banned from 211 games and at risk of losing his career, good thing he has Newport Property Ventures, which owns about 15 apartment complexes.

Marina Palms is a new construction twin tower development in North Miami Beach I reported on a couple of months ago.  The project is unique because the marina will be privately owned.  Slips may be purchased if you are a condo owner in the project.  The demand for boat slips has exceeded the supply.  Only 3 slips remain for sale with purchase in the north tower.  When the south tower units are released, those who are interested in a boat slip must enter a lottery and the ability to purchase a slip is not guaranteed.  The smallest remaining slip as of today's posting is 70 feet.

Baltus House on Biscayne Blvd

The Related Group is building 167 luxury residences at 4250 Biscayne Blvd in the Design District of Miami across from the Morningside neighborhood.  The 15 story building is designed by Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates Architects.  The project is located on the west side of Biscayne Blvd, and just north of the I-195 Causway.  The east side of Biscayne is a single family neighborhood so many of the units will have sweeping views of the Bay, and Miami Beach beyond that.

Reservations are available now.  If you want additional information on this project, let me know.  The best units in my opinion will be facing East for direct bay views or South for Downtown Miami Views.  The southeast corner above the 8th floor

SHoP Architects and JDS Development Group recently unveiled a new residential high rise in New York which will be taller than the Empire State Building and only forty feet wide.  The skinny tower would be 1,350 feet tall with residents having an entire floor to live in the ultimate high rise home.  Will this design be a hit when residents live a quarter mile above the city?  According to Wall Street Journal, SHoP partner Vishaan Chakrabarti said the materials would create an effect that, ”sparkles during the day and has a soft glow at night.”  The building narrows as it rises and is going to be constructed out of bronze-and-white terra-cotta stripes.  This super tall and thin high rise on 57th street is expected to break ground in 2014, although funding

I thought the view was amazing on top of the 64 story Four Seasons building....I can't wait to see the clouds from this height.
