Little Italy is one of the neighborhood in Downtown San Diego, California. Close to many businesses and new residences, Little Italy is an increasingly popular destination for those in town on vacation, or business people out for lunch.
With the construction of Interstate 5 through the middle of the area in the early 1970s, the neighborhood was disrupted, but has seen a recent renaissance as a restaurant district specializing in Italian food and memorabilia. There has recently been a great deal of loft and condo construction in that area, and it is close to the San Diego downtown Santa Fe Train Depot and San Diego International Airport.
