When you think Silicon Valley, you automatically think Google, Apple, Intel, Ebay, Adobe and basically the digital hub of the entire universe. And of course, you’re right. Especially with the recent Google announcement of their massive move into downtown San Jose, Silicon Valley stands to outdo itself, becoming an even more consequential center of all things tech-based.

The plan on the table proposes to completely reinvent approximately 8 million square feet of downtown San Jose. Encompassing 245 acres near Diridon Caltrain Station, Google’s new urban campus will transform the look, feel and function of Silicon Valley. Featuring tech offices, research and development complexes, as well as non-tech related venues, such as retail centers, restaurants and public entertainment areas, Google’s plan will certainly be a boon for the San Jose economy.

One question remains however…with the potential influx of more than 20,000 new Google employees, where in the world are all of these people going to live? And yet, this is a problem that’s really not—downtown San Jose already has a number of tremendous highrise and condo options available for immediate move in.   Take Axis for instance (pictured). With its premiere location on Almaden Blvd, this 22 story condominium tower definitely lives up to the hype. Floor to ceiling windows, all the amenities you could ask for, and of course the designation of being one of San Jose’s “Residential Developments of the Year,” Axis might be a top-of-the-list contender for many of Google’s best and brightest.

For tech savvy denizens, you need a tech savvy living environment, and this is just what The 88 offers. Views galore coupled with high tech finishes and features, make this one of San Jose’s most sought after condo developments. With 24 hour concierge service and the benefits that come with having a pool, spa, fitness center, and of course an urban-inspired grocery store right on the ground floor, residents here may be in danger of never wanting to leave.

City Heights is another great option for all of those Google transplants looking to get into the downtown area and have absolutely everything they could need within walking distance. The best restaurants, concert venues, coffee shops, museums and more are all just a short jaunt from 175 W. Saint James right off of Market Street. One or two bedroom condos, these residences are certainly not lacking when it comes to the upgrades. Granite counters, stainless steel appliances and tiled floors are a few of the high end features you will find at City Heights.

If you're wanting a new condo that you can customize with your own finish out the consider Silvery Towers. This highly-anticipated condo development will bring over 600 new condos to the area.

The Google campus is destined to change the face of downtown San Jose and the Capitol of Silicon Valley forever. The city stands to gain a great deal from this dynamic transit village and the excitement can be felt city-wide. And with the amazing highrise and condo spaces available, and to come, let’s just say all of those Google transfers will be acclimating in no time.
