Mayfest is Fort Worth's premier family-friendly festival! Located at 2401 University Drive, Fort Worth, 76107 along the bank of the Trinity River in Trinity Park. Mayfest offers something for everyone with music, carnival rides, games, festival food, paddle boats, petting zoo and special attraction shows just to name a few. Roughly 40 bands will be performing on three stages for 4 days and more than 40 performing groups on another three stages. I've always liked Tommy's Hamburger Grill and was thrilled a few years back when I saw they were opening a location near the office. The burgers here are outstanding with tator tots and an iced tea or beer. I also enjoy their club sandwich. Being on a healthy streak lately, I like to walk over and get a chicken salad. Ikea recently announced the Swedish based company will be opening a third store in the Fort Worth/Dallas area.  The newest store will be in North Fort Worth following another store being built in Grand Prairie. Ikea's newest location will be in Alliance with over 900 parking spaces and 289,000 square feet. Plans for the store’s construction will begin next year (Spring 2018) with a completion date sometime in summer of 2019.

Located south of Tarrant Parkway and West of I35, Ikea will be among the exploding development of Alliance joining businesses like Costco, Buccee’s, Belk, Best Buy, Cinemark, Kroger, In-N-Out Burger, Target, Rooms to Go and Jos A Bank just to name a few.

West 7th Street is getting a new neighbor!

Tom Thumb is coming to West 7th street across from Trinity Park. The new urban concept store will open the end of 2016 or early 2017 and will be the first of its kind in Texas. Tom Thumb will be a multi-level 53,000 square foot store, it will have a wine and beer bar, gluten free and organic sections, a full-service bakery, a widespread deli and a food service department offering sushi, Asian foods, pizza, hamburgers, and sandwiches as well as a Starbucks cafe.
