Boston Landing's Impact on New Residential Construction

A recent surge in new residential construction development has begun largely in part to the recent opening of the new train station in Brighton known as Boston Landing. Allston & Brighton are two Boston neighborhoods long underserved by public transportation, now they are some of the most accessible in the city, being only two stops from some of Boston's most popular destinations such as Fenway Park, Copley Square and the Financial District.

Many condo and apartment buildings have already been completed and several are presently in the works. Stop & Shop located on Everett Street in Allston, directly behind the Boston Landing train platform, has announced plans to build over 360 new housing units and 350k square feet of office and retail. The Stop & Shop development will add to what New Balances' expansion, just beside Stop and Shop's property, started several years ago with the construction of hundreds of housing units, a 170 room hotel, new training facilities for both the Bruins and Celtics, 650k square feet of Class A office space and 65k square  of new retail and restaurant space.
