The Monarch is a new 29-story, 305-unit behemoth of an apartment building in downtown Austin.  Originally designed to be condominiums, the Monarch turned to rentals when the condo sales market got soft.  The good news for tenants is that now you can live in a space that was going to be a million-dollar condominium and enjoy the luxury amenities that come with such a home.  Rents start around $1500 for a small one bedroom, go to $2300 for a two bedroom, and go up to $10,000 for penthouses.
