Candler Park is one of Atlanta’s original suburbs. It is located adjacent to Little Five Points about 5 miles east of Downtown. Candler Park was originally the independent city of Edgewood. In 1909 Edgewood was annexed to Atlanta and a housing boom followed. In 1922 Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler donated 60 acres of park to the city; now with a golf course, playground, tennis courts and swimming pool, this park is the neighborhood’s centerpiece.
Today in Candler Park you’ll still see the old mansions but there are plenty of newly crafted bungalows as well. It is home to the original Flying Biscuit Café, a famous Atlanta brunch spot. It is a family friendly neighborhood that welcomes all kinds; Candler Park is a creative and happy mix of diverse people and interests.
